Ben E. Keith, a distributor of food and drink products since 1906 and headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, planned to build a new 620,000 square foot distribution center in Selma, Texas. In addition. the company was looking to integrate its HVAC system, lighting panels, electrical meters, water meters, audio visual panel and fire alarm panel into one building automation solution. Along with the new distribution facility in Selma, Ben E. Keith needed help with the management of three other Texas facilities that either had no controls system or a broken or failing system.
FSG Smart Buildings developed and deployed new building automation systems in two locations and upgraded the systems in the other two facilities. In the Selma location, FSG Smart Buildings integrated a solution to connect the HVAC system, lighting panels, electrical meters, water meters, audio visual panel, and fire alarm panel into a new BAS. The Austin facility's upgrade included controls for eight new thermostats, four supply air sensors, and temperature sensors. The Corpus Christi and La Feria sites added metering equipment, temperature sensors on refrigeration, and new smart thermostats.
With the upgraded and working equipment, FSG Smart Buildings connected all four facilities together with the Chariot platform, allowing Ben E. Keith to remotely manage the four sites through one web-based software program.
